The Maui Humane Society is beefing up its security measures after one of its storage containers was burglarized, resulting in a total of about $2,000 in losses and damages. “For them to feel like they have to come in and take, as opposed to just scheduling an appointment, we’re happy to give it to them,” Maui Humane Society Chief of Operations Nikki Russell said.

Mobile Medical Education Unit assists community at event
On Monday, the Mobile Medical Education Unit was stationed along Kalama Park offering Maui’s houseless community mental health services, food stamps, non-critical wound care, clothing, and much more. Maui Humane Society: provided four clients with various services; distributed food, collars, leashes, harnesses, vaccinations, and microchips.

Hana Pet Food Distribution
Maui Humane Society and 4EverPets will be distributing free dog and cat food on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Hana Farmers Market from 12 pm to 3 pm (or whenever we run out). We thank the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation for supporting our community and pet owners.
Pet Food and Supply Distribution
To date, Maui Humane Society has distributed more than 17,000 lbs of pet food and supplies to emergency shelters, distribution checkpoints, parks, churches, hotels, and individuals in need throughout the island. We have received an overwhelming amount of physical donations from our local community and abroad, which we are prioritizing to distribute to all pet owners who have been directly or indirectly affected by these fires, across Maui Nui. As emergency shelters close down, we are partnering with organizations across the island to ensure that pet supplies are distributed from Hana to Kula to Napili to keep pets in homes.
