The Maui Humane Society released an urgent call for people to help foster animals as they prepare for a large-scale intake of dogs connected to a Humane Enforcement case. The shelter is already full, with zero open kennels, and they are hoping to make space to care for incoming animals, according to a news release.

KHON2: Maui Humane Society hosting foster open house
Maui Humane Society will also join shelters nationwide for the National Foster Pet Open House event by inviting the public to visit the shelter on Saturday, June 25 and 26 at 11:30 a.m. for an interactive foster meet-and-greet party for two-and four-legged friends. Those who attend will learn about the types of fostering available (long term, short term, emergency), meet available foster dogs, cats, kittens and critters, and can leave with a foster animal that day.

Maui Humane Society is hosting a Foster Open House at 11:30am on both June 25th and 26th to tell you all about how fostering saves lives! By offering your time, energy, love and home to an animal in need, you help prepare them for adoption into a permanent home, as well as creating valuable space in the shelter to accommodate other homeless animals. Fostering may be needed anywhere from a few days to a few months! Join us on June 25 and 26th and you could start your fostering journey that day!
