HONOLULU (KHON2) — Maui Humane Society has released instructions on how residents can help curb the cat overpopulation. According to the Maui Humane Society, “Trap, Neuter, Return is the humane and successful approach to addressing community cat populations. It saves cats’ lives and is effective in slowly diminishing population numbers, by preventing the vacuum effect.”

Hawaii News Now: Looking for a furry friend? Homes for scores of cats, guinea pigs and rabbits needed
Maui Humane Society is struggling to find pet parents. They are desperately trying to find homes for not only their dogs, but their cats, bunny rabbits, even guinea pigs. “If you don’t have an outdoor space, cats are great to have. Same with our guinea pigs and our rabbits,” said Maui Humane Society Marketing and Communications Director Katie Shannon.

MHS will bring kittens, bunnies and guinea pigs to an In-store Mobile Adoption Event at our local Petco Store in Kahului on Friday, October 21, from 12:00-2:00. Bunnies and Guinea Pigs will be located just inside the store entrance, next to the Cat Habitat kennels.
