Maui Humane Society has created, the Jackson Galaxy Popoki Fund for cats, a special donation fund to help bring lifesaving care and attention to vulnerable cats and kittens in the shelter’s care with the help of TV host Jackson Galaxy.
From May 1 to May 15, BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Spring National “Empty the Shelters” will take place at more than 350 shelters in 45 states with pets available for adoption for just $50 or less, including Maui Humane Society. Maui Humane Society will participate May 1–15, 2023, offering $0 adoption fees for dogs over 6 months, cats, all small animals, and a reduced adoption fee of $25 for all kittens. Maui Humane Society is urgently requesting the community’s help to provide temporary homes for dogs. Maui Humane Society currently has 120 dogs in their care and has kennel capacity for 40 dogs. Dogs are being paired in kennels to make additional space. 30 SOS Fosters are needed immediately to help decrease the dog population at the shelter.
Maui Humane Society hosts its annual “Wags to Riches” VIP fundraising event on April 29, 2023. Shelter animals will be sent from the doghouse to the penthouse. The top fundraisers will earn a VIP night with a shelter dog at several of Hawaiʻi’s top-rated luxury beachfront resorts, including Four Seasons Resort Maui, Fairmont Kea Lani, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, and the Royal Lahaina Resort.
The Shops at Wailea hosts their monthly concert series, Ke Kani Hone O Wailea, headlined by multi Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winner, Paula Fuga on Friday, March 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. At the concert, residents and visiting patrons will have the opportunity to interact with the Maui Humane Society, make a donation and even adopt a pet.
