The holidays may be over, but the season of giving back never ends as Maui Humane Society looks for animal lovers to foster a pet in order to make space for incoming animals.
On Saturday, December 16th Maui Humane Society is hosting our first Chip & Chill! The event will take place in the Maui Humane Society parking lot from 10am-1pm. We will be offering microchips, vaccines and sedatives for pets to help prepare them for the fireworks this coming New Years Eve.
Big holidays usually come with big events. For some, that big event is a fireworks’ show. Whether official fireworks shows or your neighbors firing some off, fireworks create fear and anxiety for the local wildlife as well as our pets. For pets and other animals, their sense of sound of smell is much more heightened than ours. Loud sounds like explosions are a terrifying experience, especially for those pets who are not nestled inside with their caretakers.
