The Maui Humane Society is sending out a Save our Shelter (SOS) call as its shelters exceed kennel capacity. The humane society said it currently has 105 dogs in their care looking for homes while only having a kennel capacity for 40 dogs. In order to make additional space, dogs have been paired in kennels but you can lend a helping hand through the SOS Foster program.

Maui Humane Society is urgently requesting the community’s help to provide temporary homes for dogs. Maui Humane Society currently has 105 dogs in their care and has kennel capacity for 40 dogs. Dogs are being paired in kennels to make additional space. In these moments of high population, Maui Humane Society signals “SOS Foster” which asks anyone in the community to foster an animal.
Animal Fostering Saves Lives During the Holiday Season
Now through January 2, you can make a positive impact in Maui’s community by becoming a “Foster for the Holidays” which provides a temporary warm, cozy, and safe environment home for a pet in need during the holiday season. Maui Humane Society currently has 340 animals in their care, with over 100 dogs.

Maui Humane Society seeks donations and volunteers with $10K matching campaign
Maui Humane Society is announcing their $10,000 match campaign starting on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. Giving Tuesday is an annual celebration, occurring Tuesday after Thanksgiving annually, dedicated to nonprofits around the world. Friends of Maui Humane Society, Mason and Trudy Williams have offered a $10,000 matching donation throughout the month of December, starting on Giving Tuesday. “Your donation will go twice as far, saving twice the lives of Maui’s homeless animals,” said MHS representatives.
