The Maui News: Adoption fees lowered as part of ‘Empty the Shelters’ July campaign

Maui Humane Society is reducing adoption fees as it participates in the nationwide “Empty the Shelters” campaign starting today through July 31, the shelter announced. Maui Humane Society’s reduced adoption rates during the campaign will include $50 for adult dogs and kittens; $25 for small animals, including guinea pigs and rabbits; and $10 for adult cats.

Maui Humane Society has received substantial surrender increases in guinea pigs and rabbits, unlike anything they have seen before. The shelter has surpassed capacity and temporary habitats have been built to accommodate the unforeseen increase. Maui Humane Society is offering a free vaccination clinic to the public for rabbits on July 23rd from 9am-3pm at Maui Humane Society.
