This little guy was in heartbreaking shape when he was rescued from a popular surf spot. We don’t know how long he’d been hanging around the beach trash cans looking for food, but it seemed like he had been abandoned there.
At Maui Humane Society (MHS), we gave Kaikala food, medical care and all the love he deserved. We weren’t sure if he would make it, but we were determined to do everything we could to save him.
Turns out, sweet Kaikala was a fighter! His will to live amazed us all. Soon, he was on the mend and winning over every human he met — including his new adoptive family.
