The 47th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, brings the community together for a morning of fun, food, prizes, and aloha to raise critical funds for local nonprofits. This year’s walk will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the War Memorial Special Events Area in Wailuku. We hope you’ll join us!

Here is a basic schedule for the day:
- 7:30am: Registration Opens & Coffee
- 8:00am: Event Begins, Blessing, Walk Starts
- 8:30am: Festivities & Await Finishers – Breakfast, Live Entertainment, Prize Drawings
How do I pick up my Charity Walk shirt?
Come to Maui Humane Society on Saturday, May 2, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to grab your limited-edition Team MHS 2026 Charity Walk T-shirt and enjoy a little treat on us!
While you’re here, don’t forget to say hello to some of our adorable adoptable pets — they might just steal your heart!
Can’t make it to the pick-up event? No worries! You can grab your shirt at Charity Walk on the morning of the event, or email Katie Ornelas at [email protected] to arrange an earlier pick up at MHS.
How do I walk with team MHS?
Complete your walker registration to walk with Team MHS. We can’t wait to see you there!
How long is the walk?
The 2.5-mile walk begins and ends at the arena. Volunteer course marshals will guide you, and water, snacks, and encouragement are available at aid stations along the route.
The route is mostly on sidewalks and is suitable for most walkers. If you prefer not to walk, you can stay at the arena to enjoy the festivities while cheering on participants.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at War Memorial Stadium, just a short walk from the arena.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to join in the walk as Maui Humane Society is a participating team, not the event organizer.
While pets are not allowed, service dogs are welcome to accompany their handlers.
What is the Visitor Industry Charity Walk?
The Visitor Industry Charity Walk is one of Hawai‘i’s largest fundraising events, bringing together the community to support local nonprofits across the state. Established in 1978 by the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association, the Charity Walk has raised over 51 million dollars to help fund vital programs that serve Hawai‘i’s families, keiki (children), kupuna (senior citizens), and those in need.
Each year, thousands of participants—ranging from hospitality workers to local businesses, nonprofits, and community members—come together to walk, donate, and make a difference. 100% of the funds raised stay in Hawai‘i, directly benefiting organizations that provide essential services in our communities.
