Want to Travel to Maui with Your Pets?
Hawai’i has a strict quarantine process for animals entering the state – but as long as you follow all of the State of Hawaii’s rules and guidelines, it’s possible to be on the same flight to Maui as your pet – and then take them home with you when you leave the airport. While it is a good idea to look over the State’s website, don’t get overwhelmed! We’re here to get all of your questions answered, make sure all your paperwork is correct, and that timelines are met.
The quickest way to get your furry loved ones to Maui is through Direct Airport Release. We’ll guide you through the quarantine process from beginning to end so you can make things as easy and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
- Read our Quarantine FAQs.
- Complete the MHS Airport Inspection Questionnaire below. You can also print, scan and email the completed MHS Airport Inspection Questionnaire to [email protected].
- We will be in touch with you shortly to initiate scheduling!
If you’ve already read our Quarantine FAQs and are still having trouble finding answers to your questions, email us or call (808) 856-9454 and we’ll do our best to help!
How far ahead should I be planning?
Due to vaccination and blood testing protocols as well as the age of your pet, Maui Humane Society recommends that you start making preparations 4 to 6 months in advance of your travel date as a general rule of thumb when travelling with pets both TO and FROM Maui. For a more exact timeline, contact us directly!
What's with the strict rules?
Hawaii is the only state in the nation that is rabies-free – and we want to keep it that way! These rules and requirements are for the protection of our beautiful islands, and the animals and people that reside here.
How much does it cost?
Maui Humane Society is the only airport quarantine service provider that dedicates 100% of services fees towards caring for Maui’s homeless pets. Plus, if you receive a lower quote for service, just show us verification from the competitor’s quote and we will match it.
