Maui Humane Society seeks donations and volunteers with $10K matching campaign

Maui Humane Society is announcing their $10,000 match campaign starting on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. Giving Tuesday is an annual celebration, occurring Tuesday after Thanksgiving annually, dedicated to nonprofits around the world. Friends of Maui Humane Society, Mason and Trudy Williams have offered a $10,000 matching donation throughout the month of December, starting on Giving Tuesday. “Your donation will go twice as far, saving twice the lives of Maui’s homeless animals,” said MHS representatives.

HONOLULU (KHON2) A vicious attack on a dog on Maui turned into a happy ending for the pup and its original owner three years after they were separated. Tommy Boy is a 7-year-old poi dog that was attacked with a machete in Paia in August 2022.

Hawaii News Now: After months of rehab, dog attacked with machete is ready to find his forever home!

WAILUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Maui judge has denied a woman’s request to be released from jail after she allegedly attacked a dog with a machete. The 7-year-old dog, named Tommy Boy, suffered severe injuries and is still in an animal hospital. He underwent more than five hours of emergency surgery back in August. Maui Humane Society said bone-deep gashes were left from the dogs face all the way to the tip of his tail, which was ultimately amputated.
