Route Details

Route Details

  • Both the 5k and 10k races will start and end at Maui Humane Society.
  • The route is flat and paved but includes areas of rough or uneven terrain. Please run with caution in these sections.
  • There is no shade along the route, so please wear appropriate gear and sunscreen!
  • There will be restroom access at the start of the race, and two aid stations along the route.

🐾 Please leave pets at home! Because Run to Rescue will take place next to the shelter, dogs and other pets are not permitted on the race course or in the event area. This helps keep your pets safe while minimizing stress for the animals in our care. Mahalo for understanding!

What is the Race Day Schedule?
📅 Date: Saturday, October 17

📍 Location: Starting & Ending at Maui Humane Society (1350 Mokulele Hwy, Puunene)

🕕 The schedule for Race Day is:

  • 6:00 AM: Morning Packet Pickup & Check-In Opens
  • 6:45 AM: Opening Remarks
  • 7:00 AM: 10K Race Starts 
  • 7:15 AM: 5K Race Starts 
  • 8:45 – 9:45 AM Races end, grand fundraising prizes are awarded, and mingle time
Can I bring my own dog?
No, please leave your personal pets at home. Because the race takes place right next to the shelter, we want to maintain as much peace and quiet as possible for our resident shelter animals.
How do I pick up my Run to Rescue shirt?
Thursday, October 15 – Friday, October 16 (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Beat the race day morning crowd and swing by Maui Humane Society for your packet pickup. 

Saturday, October 17 (Starting at 6:15 AM): Pick up your gear at the check-in tables on race morning.

 

Is this race timed?
No. This is a pure Fun Run. There are no timing chips, so feel free to track your own pace using your favorite smartwatch or fitness app. Our focus is entirely on community, fun, and fundraising!
I am not a runner. Can I participate?
Absolutely! This is a community fun run, not a competitive race. We welcome runners, casual joggers, and walkers. 
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at Maui Humane Society. Event volunteers will be on-site starting at 6:00 AM to guide you into a spot.
What does my registration support?
Every registration and dollar raised supports our animals’ journey from intake to adoption, including vital services like daily shelter care, medical treatment, and extra support for pets facing unique adoption hurdles.
Is there a registration cap?
In-person participation is strictly capped at 100 runners to ensure a safe, high-energy experience, so lock in your spot early! Virtual participation is unlimited!
