Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is now sheltering 50 felines — 37 cats and 13 kittens — from Maui Humane Society (MHS) and Lanai Cat Sanctuary, creating more room at those locations for animals, including ones displaced by last summer’s wildfires.
The Maui Humane Society and Lanai Cat Sanctuary have sent 50 cats to the mainland as a recent attempt to alleviate capacity challenges, especially after rescuing over 800 animals from the Lahaina burn zone.
Thanks to a swift partnership between Maui Humane Society (MHS), the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV), Lanai Cat Sanctuary (LCS) and Greater Good Charities, 50 cats have been transferred to the Humane Society Silicon Valley.
Between May 1 to May 15, adoption fees at all Maui Humane Society adoption locations will be reduced in price. This includes adoption fees of $0 for dogs and cats six months and older, as well as $50 adoptions for kittens under six months old.
