Maui Humane Society is reducing adoption fees as it participates in the nationwide “Empty the Shelters” campaign starting today through July 31, the shelter announced. Maui Humane Society’s reduced adoption rates during the campaign will include $50 for adult dogs and kittens; $25 for small animals, including guinea pigs and rabbits; and $10 for adult cats.

This year’s theme is “Aloha Spirit” and pet owners are encouraged to share why “we’re lucky to live in Hawaii.” All entries are required to be submitted horizontally.

Maui Humane Society is proud to announce the return of its highly anticipated fundraising event, “Wags to Riches” with the VIP event held on April 29, 2023. Shelter animals will be sent from the doghouse to the penthouse! The top fundraisers will earn a VIP night with a shelter dog at several of Hawaii’s top-rated luxury beachfront resorts, including Four Seasons Resort Maui, Fairmont Kea Lani, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, and the Royal Lahaina Resort.

Betty White’s legacy lives on, Maui Humane Society accepting donations in her honor
Maui Humane Society is encouraging the community to donate $5 or more and will be matching up to $1,000 on January 17 in Betty White’s honor. Maui Humane Society is shining light on their own Golden Girls: Lilo, starring as Rose Nylund, Nala as Blanche Devereaux, Athena as Sophia Petrillo, and our longest stay animal who has been with us for over 365 days, Linda, starring as Dorothy Zbornak. All four animals are currently in foster but are in need of furever homes. If you are interested in meeting these animals, please call Maui Humane Society to make an appointment.

Betty White was an animal activist and a strong supporter of animal rights. She donated generously to various animal welfare organizations, was known for her love of animals and her dedication to improving their lives, and encouraged others to do the same. Maui News: Maui Humane Society holding open houses about fostering dogs, cats and critters
Maui Humane Society is teaming up with national nonprofit Petco Love and Skechers to focus on the fun in fostering pets, which is lifesaving and especially critical during the busy summer months. Fostering is free, and it can begin on the same day. Maui Humane Society is participating in the nationwide Foster Open House:
June 25, 11:30 a.m.: For those interested in fostering dogs, puppies or Wings of Aloha fosters. Wings of Aloha is a donation-funded program that takes shelter animals and flies them to the mainland United States for adoption.
June 26, 11:30 a.m.: For those interested in fostering cats, kittens or critters (bunnies and guinea pigs)
