Maui Humane Society is urgently seeking the community’s help in providing temporary homes for dogs. The shelter currently has 105 dogs in their care, with kennel capacity for 40 dogs.

KHON2: Maui County slammed with rain: ‘Lots of destruction’
The Maui Humane Society felt the flood on Saturday as well. Officials said all the animals are safe, but the rain does cause concern for stress. “Boards are put up on all of the kennels, protecting the dogs from the rain; but with every kennel currently being full as we have over 100 dogs in our care, it’s not an enjoyable environment for them,” said MHS marketing director Katie Shannon.

Maui News: MHS needs fosters for furry four-legged friends
The Maui Humane Society has begun its “Fostering for the Holidays” program which runs through Jan. 2. It allows any member of the public even those with no prior experience, to take an animal home for the holidays, for free, with all supplies provided, according to a news release.
