Maui Humane Society is reducing adoption fees as it participates in the nationwide “Empty the Shelters” campaign starting today through July 31, the shelter announced. Maui Humane Society’s reduced adoption rates during the campaign will include $50 for adult dogs and kittens; $25 for small animals, including guinea pigs and rabbits; and $10 for adult cats.
Maui Humane Society is partnering with Greater Good Charities’ Good Fix program to provide a free, three-day spay and neuter clinic in Hana from Tuesday to Thursday. Hana community members can bring their dogs, cats or any free-roaming cat to Hana High & Elementary School Gymnasium for free same-day surgery.

The Maui Humane Society has begun its “Fostering for the Holidays” program which runs through Jan. 2. It allows any member of the public even those with no prior experience, to take an animal home for the holidays, for free, with all supplies provided, according to a news release.
Maui Humane Society is urgently requesting the community’s help to provide homes and relief for dogs as its shelter population has surged. High surrender and stay intake rates have led to kennels being over capacity, the shelter said in a news release Thursday.
