Here’s how you can give HOPE to homeless animals…

November 21, 2020

There are so many small ways to give hope to shelter animals this holiday season. From sharing a post to sponsoring a life-saving surgery, your contribution matters!

Choosing to adopt a shelter animal gives a deserving animal a second chance at a good life. If you’re ready to adopt, check out our available animals along with this month’s adoption promotions. Brighter days with your new best friend could be just around the corner!

Maui Humane Society’s volunteers are your friends and neighbors; animal lovers who care about Maui’s animals and are able to offer their time and talents where needed most to help create a better Maui for pets and people. Take the first step by watching our volunteer orientation online!

Our foster families bring shelter animals into their homes, giving them much-needed TLC and creating precious space at the shelter for others in need. Find out more about our foster program and attend an online foster orientation here.

Your generosity creates possibilities for the animals who come through our doors – giving them the chance to heal, thrive and inspire. There are many ways to give – here are a few:

Buy Chocolate (Great Holiday Win-Win!)

Purchase any gift option from Maui Humane Society’s Ku’ia Chocolate Laulima page and 40% of your purchase will benefit Maui Humane Society. This is a great option for a holiday gift that delights the taste buds AND the heart!

Purchase a Star of Hope (Great option for businesses!)

Businesses and those who would like to honor loved ones have a unique opportunity to purchase a lighted star that will be mounted along Maui Veteran’s Highway for display through the month of December. Learn more about Stars of Hope here.

Pay it Forward.

Has an adopted animal changed your life for the better? Pay it forward by donating to a special fund. Special funds are 100% donor and grant-funded and enable us to go above and beyond what is typically expected to both save the lives of sick and injured animals and prevent pet surrender in our community. Learn about our two special funds, the Hope fund and the 4EverPets fund, here.

Donate an Item from our Wish List

The items on this list were requested by our animal care, veterinary and foster teams based on their needs. Wish list items are delivered directly to the shelter and provide comfort, healing and enrichment for shelter animals during their time with us. View and donate items from Maui Humane Society’s Wish List here.
