HONOLULU (KHON2) — Meet Happy — a boy who truly lives up to his name. He arrived at Maui Humane Society in November 2025 after being found in Makawao.
When no one came looking for him, MHS gave him a name that perfectly reflects his bright, joyful spirit.
Happy is the kind of dog who wants to love and be loved. He greets the world with a wagging tail and a heart full of enthusiasm, always ready to make new friends and soak up attention.
Unfortunately, the kennel environment proved to be very stressful for him, and over time, it began to take a serious toll on his mental health. It was clear that Happy needed a calmer, more comforting space to truly be himself.
Since being in a foster home, Happy has completely blossomed. Away from the noise and stress of the shelter, his personality shines — playful, affectionate, and full of life. He absolutely loves toys and will happily entertain himself or invite you to join in the fun.
Happy loves kids and would make an amazing family companion. He can get along with some other dogs, especially with proper introductions, and would do best with a compatible canine friend if there’s another dog in the home. One of his favorite activities is heading to the beach — he’s the perfect ocean-loving buddy who will happily join you for adventures in the sun and sand.
