Maui’s firefighters and lifeguards have teamed up with the Maui Humane Society in MHS’s annual calendar contest fundraiser to support the island’s animals.
Starting today, supporters of the island’s animals and rescuers are encouraged to vote for their favorite pet-hero photos to be featured in MHS’s 2025 “Rescue Me” Calendar.
The calendar “will showcase heartwarming moments between Maui’s pets” and members of the Hawaii Firefighters Association and Hawaii Government Employees Association.
Award-winning photographer Dana Edmunds held the photoshoots at various locations in West Maui.
“The collective rescue efforts of Maui Humane Society’s staff and volunteers, along with the heroic actions of Maui’s firefighters and lifeguards, serves as a tribute to the unbreakable bond between animals and humans. Through this calendar fundraiser, we aim to highlight the bravery and resilience of our island, and showcase the importance of community solidarity during crises”. –Kathleen Hogarty, Maui Humane Society’s Director of Development
Owners can also reserve a day to honor their pet with a photo by donating $150 to benefit the Maui Humane Society.
The top 12 photos will be featured in the calendar. Each vote costs $1. To cast your vote, visit Maui Humane Society’s website.
