The Maui Humane Society announced on Tuesday the launch of its highly anticipated 2025 MHS Calendar Contest, which will showcase heartwarming moments between Maui’s pets and firefighters. The calendar will feature owned pets alongside members of the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association and Hawaii Government Employees Association, and will benefit the pets of MHS.
Pet owners on Maui will compete for their furry companions to be included in the 2025 MHS Calendar in two ways. First, they will participate in an online auction for the coveted photoshoot spots, and the top 25 bidders will join the photoshoots with Maui’s firefighters and Ocean Safety rescuers on June 17, 18 and 19. The auction period is live now and will end at 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Next, animal lovers and Maui firefighter supporters everywhere will vote for the top 12 photos of animal & rescuer duos, who will then be featured in the 2025 MHS Calendar. The voting period will be held in August, and calendars will be available for purchase in October. Pet parents can visit mauihumanesociety.org/2025calendar to learn more.
“The collective rescue efforts of Maui Humane Society’s staff and volunteers, along with the heroic actions of Maui’s firefighters and Ocean Safety rescuers, serves as a tribute to the unbreakable bond between animals and humans,” MHS Director of Development, Kathleen Hogarty, said. “Through this calendar fundraiser, we aim to highlight the bravery and resilience of our island, and showcase the importance of community solidarity during crises.”
Captured in stunning photographs, this year’s calendar will feature remarkable stories of love, companionship, and resilience of pets and rescuers alike. All proceeds from the calendar’s auction, voting contest, and sales will benefit MHS.
