The Maui News: Puppy Bowl to feature Maui pooch

February 13, 2023
Maui Humane Society will host a Puppy Bowl viewing party at 9 a.m. Sunday at Gilligan’s Bar & Grill in Kihei.

This year’s Puppy Bowl will feature a local puppy named Elua, whose name means “two” in the Hawaiian language. The name reflects his status as the second puppy from Hawaii to participate in Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl, as well as his survival story, which involved two blood transfusions performed by Maui Humane Society veterinarians and veterinary staff.
