Great work by Humane Enforcement Officer Erin Shapiro!

MHS was alerted to the sound of a kitten meowing in a storm drain. Officers lowered a trap into the drain and checked back the following morning to find the kitten had been caught! Officer Shapiro pulled the kitten out of the drain and brought her to the shelter where MHS vet staff cleaned up her icky eyes so she can head to a foster home for some TLC.

MHS is here for animals in need. 24/7 Animal Emergency Response is available at (808) 878-3680 ext. 211.
